It is Thursday and you know what that means and the ratings for AEW Dynamite are out. It is the go-home show for AEW WrestleDream on Sunday in Seattle, WA. Tony Khan has said this is a new era for AEW. Let’s see if AEW continued their momentum from Grand Slam from the week ago. Time to dive in.
AEW Dynamite Sees Viewership and Demo Drop
AEW Dynamite was live in Broomfield, Colorado. Coming off a great show in NYC prior to the show Tony Khan announced Fenix was defending the AEW International Title in an open challenge. Of course, Jeff Jarrett answered the call. Also, there was a number one contender match for the AEW International Title next week on the four-year anniversary of Dynamite. Also, we had a contract signing between Adam Page and Swerve Strickland plus a great segment with Jay White and MJF.
The show opened with the AEW International Title match. Solid match too. Also, great match with Penta el Zero Miedo, Matt Jackson, Orange Cassidy, and Austin Gunn. Plus the match between Claudio Castagnoli, Brian Cage, and Nick Jackson. Plus the rise of Julia Hart in the singles scene. She pulls in numbers. And oh year, Jay White, MJF, Swerve, and Adam Page cut great promos. And there was a cliffhanger ending with four men wearing Devil masks like MJF attacking Jay White. Who could they be?
AEW Collision this past Saturday got 562,000 viewers. The 18-49 demo did a .18 rating up from the previous week. It was a big week for college football and these are solid numbers. Not to mention the final quarter of the show had the highest viewership and demo.
The September 27th edition of AEW Dynamite week’s show was viewed by 855,000 people and did a .28 in the 18-49 demo.

Both the viewership and demo were down from last week. Not a surprise given that AEW was coming off a major event the week prior. That usually happens. After some of their best numbers in months, AEW Dynamite saw its lowest demo rating since June 28th and its lowest total viewership since August 6th.
As reported by Sports TVRatings, Dynamite was second on cable behind the MLS. The numbers are the numbers. Can’t overreact both ways.
AEW Dynamite continues to be in its normal range between 800k and 900k. Another loaded show knocked the numbers up really high. An excellent show from start to finish. And as Jericho said on the radio let’s talk about the positives of what is going on not the negatives.
AEW Dynamite is in a good place.
