It is Thursday and you know what that means and the ratings for AEW Dynamite are out. AEW is building towards the Grand Slam at Arthur Ashe Stadium next week. People were wondering how this compnay would do without CM Punk, well let’s find out. This show was good filled with excellent promos and matches. Would the numbers show the same? Time to dive in.
AEW Dynamite Stays In Range
AEW Dynamite was live in Cincinnati, OH for the build to the AEW Grand Slam event in NY. Tony Khan is going to rely on guys he has relied on in the past when there has been a mess while making new stars along the way. Jon Moxley is the new International Champion, Bryan Danielson is back, and of course the AEW World Champion MJF.

The show opened with Jon Moxley defending the AEW International Championship and continued a storyline with Bill Big and Ricky Starks. It was also announced Moxley will defend the title next week against Fenix. There were good promos from MJF, Samoa Joe, Adam Page, Swerve Strickland, and Christian Cage. In addition, we continue to see the evolution of Toni Storm’s Starlite character. We also saw MJF’s next challenge at Grand Slam as Samoa Joe beat Roderick Strong as the storyline with Adam Cole and the Kingdom continues.
AEW Collision saw a rise in their numbers this past Saturday where the show got 476,000 viewers even up against college football. The demo did a .14 rating up from the preview week.
The September 6th edition of AEW Dynamite week’s show was viewed by 888,000 people and did a .31 in the 18-49 demo.

The viewership rose and the demo is right around where it was last week. AEW Dynamite was number one on cable with Pardon the Interruption at number two and Real Housewives at number three. The charts provided by SportsTVRatings.
AEW Dynamite continues to be in its normal range between 800k and 900k. These numbers were higher a year ago. But Solid numbers for this show. There are always ebbs and flows to each week. Considering this was a weird show, this is a solid number. Again this is despite what some say about how they handle their business.
Again we look at year-to-year numbers AEW is in a good place. Like the viewership number, the demo was in the range of the previous 10-week demo numbers. Overall, AEW Dynamite is in a good place. We will see how Collision does as the College Football season continues.
