It is Thursday and you know what that means and the ratings for AEW Dynamite are out. It was AEW Dynamite Grand Slam on Wednesday night highlighted by the AEW World Championship match. Plus there were three other title matches as well. This was a good show and the numbers proved it. Time to dive in.
AEW Dynamite Sees Highest Viewership Since February 2023
AEW Dynamite was live in New York City for Grand Slam. Tony Khan made sure this was a special show with four championship matches highlighted by Samoa Joe challenging MJF for the AEW World Championship. In addition, the ROH and NJPW Strong Titles were on the line, plus the AEW International and Women’s championships as well.
The show opened with the ROH-NJPW Strong title match and the show closed with the AEW World Title match. The AEW International Championship match had some scary moments while the AEW Women’s title match delivered some great moments from Toni Storm. Mix in Sammy Guevara’s heel turn on Chris Jericho as they paid homage to Jericho/Shawn Michaels from Wrestlemania 19.
AEW Collision this past Saturday got 467,000 viewers even up against college football. The demo did a .15 rating up from the preview week.
The September 20th edition of AEW Dynamite week’s show was viewed by 984000 people and did a .36 in the 18-49 demo.

Both the viewership and demo rose from last week to some of the best numbers in a year for AEW Dynamite. Dynamite Grand Slam was number one on cable for the fifth time in the last six weeks. As reported by Sports TVRatings, “Grand Slam” was Dynamite’s highest P18-49 since Sep 14, 2022. It has the highest viewership since February 22 of this year.
AEW Dynamite continues to be in its normal range between 800k and 900k. Another loaded show knocked the numbers up really high. An excellent show from start to finish. And as Jericho said on the radio let’s talk about the positives of what is going on not the negatives.
Three different quarter-hours (not counting the overrun) for last night’s AEW Dynamite averaged just over 1 million viewers. The high point for P18-49 was the last full quarter-hour with MJF vs. Samoa Joe main event. Viewership continued growing for the 4-minute overrun.
Wrestlenomics: Dynamite Grand Slam did 3 quarters that reached over 1 Million viewers. 1. Peak viewership was 1.017 million in Q4 for the Jericho/Guevara angle. 2. Q8 featuring MJF vs. Samoa Joe drew 1.014 million. 3. Q2 with 1.004 million for the Eddie/Claudio finish.
AEW Grand Slam ratings for each year:
2021: 1.273M, 0.48 P18-49
2022: 1.039M, 0.35
2023: 984k, 0.36
AEW Dynamite is in a good place.
