We now have an ending to the saga between CM Punk and All Elite Wrestling.
As reported last night on Full Press Wrestling, it was written that CM Punk was done with the company. But we were waiting for word from Tony Khan. We got that hours before the AEW Collision show in Chicago.
Tony Khan, the President/CEO of AEW, announced today that the company has terminated the contract of CM Punk, aka Phil Brooks.

The statement reads as follows:
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has terminated the wrestler and employment agreements between Phillip Brooks (CM Punk) and AEW with cause, effective immediately. The termination was confirmed today by Tony Khan, CEO, General Manager and Head of Creative of AEW.
The termination follows a weeklong internal investigation of an incident occurring back stage at AEW – All In London on Sunday, August 27. Following the investigation, the AEW Discipline Committee met and later convened with outside legal counsel before making a unanimous recommendation to Khan that CM Punk be terminated with cause.
Khan offered the following statement:
“Phil played an important role within AEW and I thank him for his contributions. The termination of his AEW contracts with cause is ultimately my decision, and mine alone. Of course, I wish I didn’t have to share this news, which may come as a disappointment to many of our fans. Nevertheless, I am making the decision in the best interests of the many amazing people who make AEW possible every week – our talent, staff, venue operators and many others whose efforts are unsung but essential to bringing our fans great shows on television and at arenas and stadiums throughout the world.”

We heard multiple sides to the story involving Punk and Jack Perry that occurred. But this is the second incident in a year that Punk has been involved in. The other was a year ago at All Out 2022 with the Elite (Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks).

It will be interesting to see where the company goes as AEW Collision was built around him. Not to mention he is the company’s top merchandise seller. He was in the midst of a storyline being the real world’s champion. Though he brought eyeballs to the company, he has been suspended or injured more than he has wrestled for the company.
But as Full Press Wrestling reported last night there is a belief that AEW was trying to get Punk to quit. Instead, his contract is terminated.
Where does CM Punk go next? Is he done with wrestling or does he go back to WWE?
