The CM Punk and Jack Perry situation has taken away from what a great PPV is for not only AEW but the wrestling business in general.
It was almost a year at this time when we were talking more about CM Punk and The Elite Brawl at All Out 2022 rightfully named Brawl Out instead of MJF coming back and the event itself.
And it seems with each passing day, there is a different story from someone else who witnessed the brawl and how it went down. After a while, it becomes comical. Similar to Brawl Out, the real parties involved know what happened.
As Full Press Wrestling reported yesterday through industry insiders there is a sense that AEW and Tony Khan are setting up CM Punk to fail and quit the company. There is a lot of backstage politics going on, which there always is in the wrestling business, but there are some who believe The Elite (Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks) were afraid Punk was going to get to Khan and they would lose their influence over him.
It just seems like time and time again that Punk is being put in these situations. Again some of it he brings on himself because he does not let stuff go, but other times those in the locker room instigate with him to draw a reaction.
It seems like the media wants to portray Punk in a certain light to cause him to be a divisive character. He does bring some of this on himself, but when we went off in his famous All Out Press Conference, he said he worked with “Children.” He was trying to bring a professional attitude to the locker room while those around him wanted things to be the same.

We know CM Punk and other wrestlers did not have transportation set up when they arrived in London for All In. Punk had to get his own transportation to and from the hotel. There were no directions given to Punk and others about when to arrive at the stadium for the event.
Then what goes down goes down at All In before he leaves. And if you watch the end of the match, after his victory over Samoa Joe, Punk waves goodbye to the crowd. Punk soaks it in after the match. Usually, a wrestler does that knowing he is not coming back.
CM Punk sets the tone for #AEWAllIn with a fantastic victory!

We know Warner Brothers Discovery really wanted CM Punk back. Thus, Collision was announced and built around him. Then AEW announced All Out at the United Center. Well, right now, Punk is not on All Out.
According to Tony Khan, they are still investigating what happened. Khan is hopeful he can make an announcement before All Out on Sunday. We know Punk and Khan have not talked since All In. There Punk and Khan had words and there were some who heard him say “I hate this place.”
Though Punk and Perry are both suspended, it seems like Punk walked out with the “Real World’s Championship” like Stone Cold Steve Austin in 2002.
Again, do we know the whole story? No. Because more and more things come out, it is a game of telephone and things get lost along the way. We know as things do get leaked, it seems they are very anti-CM Punk adding more fuel to the fire of does AEW wants Punk to just quit.
But if CM Punk is quitting, then AEW lost a major star. Yes, the company will survive, but again it is those in back that let another talent go. There is a reason Cody Rhodes left. It may be the same reason CM Punk does too.
