Who walks away a winner at Extreme Rules?
Extreme Rules isn’t looking particularly extreme this year. There is only one extreme rules match, and only six matches announced overall. It may be a short show, but it’s impactful with five title matches. Evan & Javier from @CrossbodyOfWork are here to predict the matches at Extreme Rules 2021.
Liv Morgan vs Carmella
Evan: A non-title women’s feud being featured on pay-per-view? This is something I love to see. I still think Morgan should find her way to the championship scene soon. A win here would be a good step.
Prediction – Liv Morgan
Javier: I would never pick against Liv. But aside from that, she gains so much more than Carmella from a win here. It’s time to start building newer stars in the women’s division and Liv is one of them.
Prediction – Liv Morgan
The Usos (c) vs Street Profits – SmackDown Tag Team Championships
Evan: The Bloodline is going nowhere, at least not before Reigns faces off against Brock Lesnar. Jimmy & Jey are going to hold onto the titles in this matchup. I’d love for this to be a tornado tag extreme rules match because these four men would thrive with that freedom.
Prediction – The Usos
Javier: I don’t know what team will be the one to take the belts off of Jimmy and Jey, but it will not be the Street Profits… now. They’re going to hold those titles for a very long time and they should. The Bloodline is the lifeblood of SmackDown.
Prediction – The Usos
Damian Priest (c) vs Jeff Hardy vs Sheamus – United States Championship
Evan: If WWE was going to go with a surprise winner, I could see this being the spot. The US Championship seems to get hotshot more than any other belt. That being said, Priest is strong with the belt right now. He should keep it.
Prediction – Damian Priest
Javier: Damian Priest is getting the rocket strapped to him right now. He’s my early pick to win the 2022 Royal Rumble match. With that said, I don’t see him losing the belt for a good while (possibly to a heel Keith Lee?), so he retains here and keeps his ascent to the main event going.
Prediction – Damian Priest
Charlotte Flair (c) vs Alexa Bliss – Raw Women’s Championship
Evan: I’m always getting Charlotte predictions wrong. So I’m going to reverse psychology this thing and pick against my instincts.
Prediction – Alexa Bliss
Javier: This is the match that has given me the most trouble. Alexa Bliss is beloved by this company when it comes to putting belts on people, but not as beloved as Charlotte Flair. My guess is this match is really weird and ends with Charlotte winning. I don’t know who takes the belt off of her, but hopefully, the draft makes that clearer.
Prediction – Charlotte Flair
Becky Lynch (c) vs Bianca Belair – SmackDown Women’s Championship
Evan: I still think it was the wrong decision to have Lynch come back and dethrone Belair right away. It would be a complete waste to flip-flop the title. Please give these two a good matchup this time at least.
Prediction – Becky Lynch
Javier: Becky Lynch did not turn heel at SummerSlam to drop the title a month later. I’m excited to see Lynch wrestle a proper match again, and hopefully, these two are able to have a good one. In the end, Lynch retains.
Prediction – Becky Lynch
Roman Reigns (c) vs Finn Balor – Extreme Rules Match – Universal Championship
Evan: Could you imagine teasing Reigns versus Lesnar and then taking it away?
Prediction – Roman Reigns
Javier: I would’ve made this pick regardless, but with the announcement that Brock Lesnar is facing the winner of this match at Sweet Saudi Money Six, there is no way Balor is winning this match. What a waste of the Demon…
Prediction – Roman Reigns
We only differ on a single match this time around. Agree or disagree? Let us know on Twitter at @FPC_Wrestling or in the comments.
