Normally, it is Monday and you know what that means. But it was a busy Monday in the world of professional wrestling and the ratings for the Friday night shows are a day behind. This week we take a look at the WWE Smackdown and the two-hour AEW Rampage Grand Slam special. Without any further ado let’s go to the ratings.
AEW Rampage Grand Slam Exceeds Expectations
Let’s begin with the show that there was a lot of anticipation around and that is AEW Rampage Grand Slam. Due to it being a two-hour special each hour was broken down in the ratings. The first hour of the show did well and was up from the previous two weeks. It was viewed by 727,000 with a .32 in the key 18 to 49 demo. This was number one on the cable charts. And AEW Rampage has been number one since debuting on Friday nights.
The first hour of Rampage was watched by 727,000 viewers and did a 0.32 rating in 18 to 49. The second hour was watched by 552,000 viewers and did a 0.25 demo rating.
The first hour of Rampage ranked #1 in the demo on cable for the day. The second hour ranked #4.

The first hour of AEW Rampage saw CM Punk’s first televised match in over seven years. In addition, we saw the trios match between the Superkliq against Jurassic Express and Christian. Plus we got the Men of the Year (Scorpio Sky & Ethan Page) taking on Chris Jericho vs Jake Hager. Fans were treated to the debut of Jorge Masvidal in AEW with Dan Lambert’s American Top Team as he laid out Jericho.
There was a drop in the second hour, but it still did very well with 552,000 people viewing the show. Two hours is tough on Friday night especially after a two-hour Smackdown as the show went to midnight on a Friday. For the 18-49 demo, the second hour did a .25. This was fourth on the night on cable. Combined the show averaged 640,000 people and a .29 in the 18-49 demo. The average 18-49 of a .29 was still number one on cable.
The second hour saw the eight-man tag match with the Lucha Brothers, Proud & Powerful, Butcher & the Blade and Private Party. In addition, we saw Penelope Ford vs Anna Jay. The main event of the night, being the Lights Out match between Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston vs Lance Archer & Minoru Suzuki. Overall a really good show.
Smackdown Continues To Dominate on Network TV
Smackdown once again ruled network television. The show was viewed by 2.135 million people and did a .55 in the 18-49 demo. This was tops on network TV according to Showbuzzdaily.com.
WWE Smackdown on Friday on Fox averaged 2,135,000 viewers and did a 0.55 rating among viewers aged 18 to 49.
AEW Rampage at 10 pm on TNT averaged 640,000 across its special two-hour time slot.
