CM Punk remains the most divisive figure in all of pro wrestling.
It seems that the more things change, the more things stay the same. As All Elite Wrestling heads toward its biggest show in company history with All In at Wembley Stadium, those around the company have to do damage control again as CM Punk is causing drama once again.
AEW has finally gotten past the stench that was Brawl Out. For those that do not know the reference, it was the infamous All Out Press Conference held by CM Punk after he won the AEW World Title. He called out the company, the Young Bucks, Hangman Page, and Kenny Omega. Punk put owner Tony Khan in an awkward situation.
Falling the press conference where Punk just wanted to shoot on everyone, there was a confrontation between Punk, Omega, and the Young Bucks. From reports, punches were thrown and there was a big altercation that led to suspensions and titles being stripped from all the parties involved. It was a major black eye to a company that had built so much momentum getting to that point.
Not to mention what was going on in the other company at the time with the whole Vince McMahon drama and the start of Triple H taking. AEW did not need that kind of bad publicity. They were able to rebound and see everyone come back, including CM Punk, whom many thought he was done with wrestling again.
However, Tony Khan continues to let Punk ruin his company on the backstage side. Again this writer is one of Punk’s biggest fans. However, he needs to learn to let stuff go.
After AEW Collision went off the air on Saturday night, CM Punk once again took a shot at Hangman Adam Page. Those two have a history leading to their match at Double or Nothing in 2022. Page was the first one to go off script, which Punk was not happy about. Then Punk returned the favour.
Adam Page has moved on from Punk and the whole incident from the spring of 2022. There was a belief by those in the company that Punk was trying to work what really happened at Brawl Out into a storyline so he and FTR could wrestle Omega and the Bucks in a trios match. Remember, there is a lot of money to be made in that feud.
Unfortunately, the Elite do not want to talk with him right now. In any form. None of them want to work with him, either. Punk, according to those in the company, reached out and apologized to Hangman Page via text. At least that incident is cleared up. But wait, there is more.

There were reports of CM Punk telling wrestlers like Hangman Page, Matt Hardy, and Isiah Kassidy to leave the building on Saturday night in Greensboro, NC. The Punk camp denies those rumours. Those are some within the locker room that Punk did have those wrestlers removed and banned from the building.
Page was there to cut a promo for Dynamite and was told to “go home.” Hangman Page lives in the area, so, in fact, was home already. In addition, Punk did have AEW head of talent relations Christopher Daniels and Ryan Nemith removed from the building on Saturday.
Punk also got into an argument with Jack Perry Saturday night as well. This was more of Punk trying to be protective of Jack Perry. Perry wanted to use real glass for a promo and Punk told him that it was not a good idea. Perry got mad and the two had a face-to-face. Others, including Tony Schiavone, told the young star not to do it as well.
As much as Collision was designed to be CM Punk’s show, which for the most part it is because of the two separate rosters, he still has issues with everyone. He can’t leave well enough alone.
But like Punk said in his opening promo on the debut episode of Collision, Love Him or Hate Him, you will watch him.
However, how much is too much before his reputation as a locker room problem becomes a reality?
Things were relatively quiet and running smoothly before these incidents accord. This is something AEW does not need, with All In just a few weeks away.
Tony Khan needs to sit CM Punk down and let him know he runs the show and not the talent. Not to mention, Punk should apologize to Khan for putting him in these situations going back to All Out 2022. But the main thing Tony Khan needs is a locker room leader to keep a guy like CM Punk in line.
