All Elite Wrestling has a new show on Saturday night called Collision. Ever since the show hit the airways back on June 17th, it has felt like the old AEW. Now that just could be the fact that Collision is a new show and we are seeing the full depth of the roster. Or it could be the fact, that someone else besides Tony Khan is running the show on Saturday night.
As much as AEW does not mention a roster split, Collision on Saturday night is completely different than AEW Dynamite on Wednesday night. You could call Collision the A show and Dynamite the B show. But it does not matter because both shows are doing well. There are just some differences that fans of wrestling will notice.

AEW Collision does not feel as rushed as Dynamite does on Wednesday night. They let things settle a little more than Dynamite does. You could see Dynamite doing that early on, but now they just wanted to cram as much in as possible within the two hour time block. AEW Collision has only a handful of matches each week. But again the company is producing high-quality television each Wednesday and Saturday night.

Yes there is AEW Rampage on Friday, but that feels more like a developmental show now with AEW Dark and AEW Dark Elevation off Youtube. It is a lot of wrestling on a Friday night and it is tough time slot for sure. So is Saturday night, but the right guys are carrying the show on Saturday.
While AEW does not want to admit it, Collision has helped the product of Dynamite. It might not be a Collision vs Dynamite thing, but some weeks it feels like it. We know the division between CM Punk and members of the Elite. That is why they are on separate shows. However, having Punk back to carry the Saturday night show has gotten more eyeballs back on the product.
Just look at the high-quality matches each Saturday night. It is just not FTR or CM Punk either. The show features the House of Black, Samoa Joe, Andrade El Idolo, Miro, along with Darby Allin, The Acclaimed, and Ricky Starks. Not to mention Bullet Club Gold Jay White, Juice Robinson, and the Gunn Club.
The ratings are getting better each week too. Now let’s see what happens when college football comes around and when there is a WWE PPV. But Tony Khan and Warner Bros Discovery took a chance on another two-hour wrestling show and it is paying off.
Speaking of matches, we mentioned FTR earlier. These guys are the best tag team in the world. FTR continues to put on high-quality matches that it why they are 10-star FTR. Just look at what they have done. Over the past four weeks, they had three bangers including two matches against Robinson and White including a 58-minute epic two out of three falls match to open a show.
Then there was this past Saturday against Adam Cole and MJF. This was another classic. Even though the fans wanted a title change, FTR retained and worked the heel role perfectly. But they deserve this run and continue to run the division. They will defend the titles against Big Bill and Brian Cage this Saturday.
Robinson and White have been excellent as well. CM Punk hand-picked these guys to work with before Collision started. These guys wrestle every week. And Bullet Club Gold is gaining momentum.
And of course, the rivalry between Punk and Joe culminated on a Saturday night on Collision. Punk and Starks have a nice rivalry going through the Owen Hart Tournament and now beyond. Starks will get a AEW World Title match this Saturday as Punk claimed he is still the real champion, more on that in another story. But giving the show a major belt says something about the quality of the talent before the titles are merged again.
Let’s not forget about Andrade and the rivalry he had with the House of Black over his mask. What a tremendous ladder match. Like the Old AEW, Collision is giving banger matches each week. Now it will be interesting to see if they continue that. At times Dynamite slowed down with that, but recently, Khan has been pulling out all the stops as each show is bringing out the best in the other.
Collision is giving the fans what the old AEW was like and giving them hope that its company is not going anywhere and will be around for a long time.
