AEW Dynamite Viewership Rises Heading into Forbidden Door

It is Friday and it is usually Thursday and you know what that means… ratings for AEW Dynamite are out. Forbidden Door is right around and AEW is doing a good job of building up to this show. This time Dynamite was live in Chicago, the site of the first AEW Collision. It was another solid show with lots of action. You know Tony Khan pulls out all the stops heading into a PPV. Let’s see how the show did.

AEW Dynamite Viewership Rises 

AEW Dynamite wants to build momentum for their international show this Sunday in Toronto, which Full Press Wrestling will be at. With AEW Collision averaging 816,000 viewers on a Saturday night and .33 in the 18-49, which was third on cable, the company hope to bring that audience over to TBS on Wednesday.

The usual suspects were there MJF, CM Punk, FTR, Jay White, Blackpool Combat Club, The Elite, Orange Cassidy, Chris Jericho, Sting, and Will Ospreay.

The June 21st edition of AEW Dynamite week’s show was viewed by 902,000 people and did a .33 in the 18-49 demo.

The viewership and demo were up from the previous week. Clearly, the trend of viewership rising and heading into a PPV continues. The show was jam-packed with all the big stars heading to Toronto for Forbidden Door. Dynamite’s highest P18-49 viewership since February 22 and only the highest total viewership since June 7.

Again we look at year-to-year comparables AEW is in a good place numbers-wise. AEW Dynamite is doing well on Wednesday night since it moved to TBS. This is why they are getting a new TV deal and show. However, having star power and good storylines would also draw people in. Hopefully, the numbers rise with the new show.
