Welcome back to another edition of the weekend wrestling ratings with WWE Smackdown and AEW Rampage. Both shows were on their normal days, times, and stations. WWE Smackdown drew record numbers thanks to Roman Reigns and the Bloodline Storyline.
Whether those want to admit it or not, Roman Reigns is a draw. No matter what he is doing fans are going to tune in. And after what happened at Night of Champions with Jimmy Uso turning on Roman Reigns and the Solo Sikoa everyone was going to tune in. Oh yeah throw in Roman Reigns’s 1000 mark as WWE Undisputed Universal Champion celebration, you knew people were going to see what was going to happen.

The Bloodline story segment in-specific from last week’s episode was watched by an insane 2,900,000 to 3,000,000 viewers. That is a jump of 650,000 viewers from the previous week. This is the second-highest segment in two and a half years for WWE Smackdown. Not to mention this was the highest quarter for WWE in years at the minimum.
WWE Smackdown was number one on network television and cable. Now throw in the fact, the Bloodline segment on Youtube had over 40 million viewers. It is the most watch WWE Smackdown clip of 2023.
One thing is for sure storylines draw and so does Roman Reigns. Despite what those in the business think and how FOX feels. These numbers might just change their mind. Reigns and the Bloodline is the best storyline going.
Nobody expects wrestling ratings to be what they were during the height of the Attitude Era and the Monday Night Wars between Raw and Nitro. Smackdown is rating well consistently well over 2 million viewers every Friday night. That is really good. Roman Reigns is a Needle Mover as his shirt said.

On the other side of things, AEW Rampage had a championship Friday. The show did not do well with 397,000 viewers. The .11 in 18-49 demo was 12th on cable.
We should note there were no NBA Playoffs on and the Stanley Cup Final had not started yet, so this allowed Smackdown to see its second-best viewership since John Cena returned at the end of December.
