Welcome to the wrestling roundup where we look at the biggest stories from the past week or weekend in wrestling. In the wrestling roundup, we not only will look at the news but rumours as well. Again fans love speculating on rumours. And all the rumours will be cited from credible sources in the wrestling world. Remember with rumours, none of them have been confirmed. With that said let’s dive into this edition of the wrestling roundup looking at what is next for CM Punk and AEW, Big Match Planned for the Bloodline, new signings, and more.
Wrestling Roundup: CM Punk Close To Returning
AEW News: First AEW Collision Will Be in Chicago
AEW President/CEO Tony Khan announced last week the new television show AEW Collision. This week on Dynamite, the lead into Double or Nothing, Khan announced the first AEW Collision will be in Chicago at the United Center. The first AEW Collision will take place Saturday, June 17th.
This has led to all speculation about the return of CM Punk. Recall, when Punk originally returned to wrestling it was at the United Center on Rampage entitled the “First Dance.” We know what happened after that. Chicago has been the number one location for AEW Collision with CM Punk being the main attraction on the show. However, there was talk of it potentially being at Dailys Place in Jacksonville, Florida via Wrestling Observer if a new agreement was not in place between AEW and Punk after “Brawl Out”
AEW News: Latest on CM Punk and AEW
When AEW Collision was first announced it was weird not to see CM Punk’s name on the press release. Originally it was supposed to be there as Sondra Ruth of Inside the Ropes. Instead, names like Thunder Rosa, Samoa Joe, Miro, Andrade El Idolo, and Powerhouse Hobbs were the headliners. It was believed Tony Khan and CM Punk were originally working on bringing him back after his suspension following All Out and the brawl that took place.
Punk wanted to return and wanted to work things out with the Elite, Chris Jericho, and other members of the locker room. With AEW splitting their rosters Punk was going to be the face of AEW Collision. Reports indicate he wants to work with Samoa Joe and Chris Jericho.
Like Thunder Rosa, Punk had to make amends not only with Khan but with the locker room as well. Their original announcement for Punk was supposed to have happened last week with AEW Collision, but there was a breakdown that led to even more of a fractured relationship. Punk took to his Instagram to say the reports from Wrestling Observer were false. Apparently, it revolved around Ace Steel per Fightful.com. Steel is back with the company, but not there all the time.
Fightful reported earlier Wednesday that Punk was asked to sign legal papers restricting him from speaking about certain topics and requiring him to return to action.
Punk had a torn triceps at All Out after regaining the AEW World Title from Jon Moxley before the Brawl with Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks. Consequences from the Brawl saw the Bucks and Omega stripped of the AEW World Trios Titles and Punk stripped of the AEW World Title and Ace Steel was fired. No one has spoken publicly about the incident due to what is assumed to be threatened legal action. It’s also been reported that issues between all sides have yet to be resolved.
AEW will rely on the rumours and speculation from the fans as it did the first time as the hype for AEW Collision draws near on June 17th.

WWE News: Big Match Planned for the Bloodline
Per PW Mania, there is a big match planned for the Bloodline. Things are lining up for the Usos take on Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa at Money in the Bank.
It was noted that plans are still being finalized. So the match is not guaranteed. However, if it does happen, this would free up Reigns for a singles title defence at WWE SummerSlam. SummerSlam takes place on Saturday, August 5 from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
With Roman and Solo taking on Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens for the tag team titles at Night of Champions, it is unclear if this match will be for the titles. However, the seeds have been planted for an Usos face turn.
The story between Jey and Jimmy Uso is coming full circle with Roman. When Roman came back, he feuded with both of them for the tribal chief title. Now, WWE is going back to it and now Solo is now in line to take the title off of Roman.
Money in the Bank takes place on July 1st at the O2 Arena in London.

WWE News: Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens Going To Saudi Arabia
For the first time in a long time, Sami Zayn and Kevin Ownes are heading to Saudi Arabia. This weekend is Night of Champions with Zayn and Owens defending the tag team titles against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa.
Zayn of Syrian heritage was banned from going to Saudi Arabia. Not by WWE, but by the Saudi government. Syrians were not allowed to enter the country. Thus when Zayn was not allowed to go to Saudi Arabia, Kevin Owens, his best friend, decided that he was not going to go. So after the initial Saudi Show, the Greatest Royal Rumble, neither man has ventured over to the Kingdom until now.
Call it coincidence, call it the Saudi government overturning the ban, but the Bloodline-Zyan/Owens is the hottest ticket in the company right now and not having all four men over there would have been a bad look. With Zayn allowed to go, Owens decided he wanted to go. And thus the match between Reigns/Solo and Zayn and Owens was made on an episode of Smackdown a couple of weeks ago.
WWE News: Bray Wyatt Return
According to Boozin Rasslin’ Bray Wyatt’s return is up to him and management. Wyatt has not been seen on TV since the Royal Rumble. As the report notes, Bray came back once Triple H took over from Vince McMahon. But with McMahon back in the fold, there is hesitation from Wyatt to return to the company.
Other News:
According to Wrestling Observer, Dave Meltzer notes that Drew McIntyre’s pending return to WWE is “more a creative issue” that he and WWE have to come to an agreement on. As far as his contract status is concerned, a new deal has not been reached. However, WWE can add injury time to the end of his deal, which they usually do when they think a star might leave.
Also, Tony Khan on AEW announced that Aussie Open has signed with All Elite Wrestling.
This catches you up on the news and rumors in the world of pro wrestling.
