Both the demo and viewership numbers were down from the previous week, as there was a lot of competition on television on Wednesday night. Overall, the numbers are down from the previous year when they were in the 900k weekly. The show was excellent with the action and promos. Whether you agree or not on how the company buries itself when the four pillars of AEW opened the program. The main event was good along with the rest of the matches.
Overall these numbers are good. Would it be nice to see AEW back in the 900,000 or over a million sure? But we do not live in an era anymore where wrestling draws over four million people anymore over two shows. The glory days of the Attitude Era with the Monday Night Wars are gone. these are the number across all the brands.
This week AEW Dynamite was 11th on cable according to Showbuzzdaily.com. They were behind two NBA games on ESPN per usual. There was a play-in game for the NCAA tournament as well along with the World Baseball Classic.
