It’s Thursday and you know what that means… ratings for AEW Dynamite are out. Championship Fight Night on AEW on Wednesday with another loaded card by Tony Khan and company. Let’s see how the show did in the ratings.
AEW Dynamite: Championship Night

Both the demo and viewership numbers were down from the previous week. Though the viewership was down the P18-49 has remained pretty much the same. Not to mention it is the fourth straight week AEW Dynamite has been over 900,000 viewers.
AEW Dynamite was fourth on cable according to Showbuzzdaily.com behind two basketball games, the Challenge and Sportscenter. This was a good show, but sometimes they try to do much and can lose people if the match quality isn’t the greatest.
But do not read too much into these numbers because AEW is putting out a good product. There is still time to build toward the PPV.
Show Recaps
It was another loaded show off the top with a World Title Eliminator Match between MJF and Konosuke Takeshita. This was a great opening match. MJF looks great in the ring in his second match since winning the World Title at Full Gear. This was a hard-hitting affair between these two new rivals. MJF hurt himself in this match as well but withstood everything Takeshita threw at him. MJF got a submission victory and after the match hit his opponent with the Dynamite Diamond Ring before Bryan Danielson came down for the save.
Following that was an AEW World Women’s Title Eliminator Match between Jamie Hayter and the Bunny. Good match and a first-hour women’s match we haven’t seen in a while. This was quick as The Bunny got injured leading to Hayter going for a quick pin. Following that Toni Storm and Saraya are continuing the nWo outsider storyline through the AEW Women’s Division.
Garcia-Guevara-Gauntlet was next on the card. Ricky Starks had to run the gauntlet to get to Chris Jericho. Starks made quick work on “Cool Hand” Angelo Parker and “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard. Following that Starks took on Daniel Garcia. This was a good match. Starks didn’t feel as hot in Texas as he had been, maybe, that was booking. Too many guys are hot and then not. This was a fine match for what it was. Jericho interfered to allow Garcia to Starks to kill his momentum even more.

Bryan Danielson versus Rush was next. Danielson was backstage with Takeshita in the trainers’ room. Jose the Assistant and Preston Vance tried to keep him from the ring. MJF came out and had a great spot with Aubrey Edwards and the count. Danielson wanted to get his hands on MJF at AEW Revolution for the title. Rush and Danielson put on a great match. Danielson absorbed everything and more from Rush. So many hard spots before Danielson got the victory earning his Iron Man Match. MJF continued the assault on Danielson’s arm after the bell.
The AEW Trios Titles match was next. This match was nonstop action between Top Flight and AR Fox taking on the Elite. This was a fun match. Momentum was on the side of Top Flight and AR Fox, but damn these guys made it believable that they could win the titles. So many great spots. AR Fox, what else can you say about him? Another standout performance. Elite got the win over a great tag team.
The main event was for the AEW World Tag Team Titles. It was the Acclaimed taking on the Gunn Club. This was a good match. We all figured a title change was coming but not how it went down. The Gunns are the new champs, but it was by cheating now Billy Gunn turning heel. You have to wonder if these belts play hot potato because the Gunns are not credible champs with the Acclaimed so popular.
That was the show.
