The wrestling world moves at a quick pace. In a matter of days, we saw Vince McMahon back on the Board of Directors. Stephanie McMahon resigns as CO-CEO and Chairwoman and Vince is back as the Executive Chairman of WWE.
One of the reasons Vince McMahon forced his way back onto the WWE Board of Directors was to sell the company. In addition, McMahon also came back to help negotiate the following media rights deals. Many rumours and reports are floating around about the potential sale of WWE.
Again these are just reports and nothing has been confirmed. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com went as far as to say the rumour of WWE being sold related to Saudi Backers buying the company. With the company then going private. If that were to happen the company several things then fall into play. WWE would be taken off the Stock Market. Thus the SEC investigation into Vince McMahon’s sexual assault allegations could potentially go away.
More on the HOT SAUDI RUMOR: that the WWE sale is done they’ll go private.
I haven’t confirmed any of this. At all. But hey, you guys wanna know what all of the dark twitter tweets are about.

Several others including Wrestling Observer Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer reported there is major news that will be announced soon in regard to the sale of WWE. Again the reports are it is to a Saudi-based company. It is believed to be the same company at runs the LIV Golf tour. Again these are just reports and rumours.
However, Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam confirms the deal is done and the company will indeed go private.
For what it’s worth, I’m told the Saudi deal is done and they’re taking the company private.

Again this needs to be treated as a rumour as nobody within the company has actually confirmed this.
Again — NOBODY IN WWE HAS CONFIRMED THIS — some have even said they don’t believe it!

However, according to the Wrestling News.co there are several wrestlers who would leave the company if a Saudi-backed company bought WWE. We know Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens do not travel to Saudi Arabia for those events.
If and when WWE is sold, you have to wonder if Vince McMahon gets full control of everything once again. There is still more that needs to come to light on McMahon. As PWI Insider is reporting there are more lawsuits to come in the wake of McMahon coming back onto the board and how he did so.
Update:
Finally, there is some news in regards to the rumour of Saudi buying WWE and as of now, they are untrue.
Contrary to reports stating otherwise last night, there is no deal in place at this precise moment for WWE to be sold to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund or any entity, sources say.
The organization is still exploring all options, I’m told. Developing.

I concur with @RichLightShed. I asked someone at WWE, who would know, who said the story that took hold of Twitter last night, about WWE and Saudi Arabia being near a deal to take the company private, is untrue.

Well, finally got something much more firm.
A high-ranking #WWE source with knowledge of the situation tells me reports of a sale or agreement to sell at this moment are “completely false.”

Again stay tuned as more develops on this ongoing situation.
