AEW News: CM Punk’s Contract To Be Bought Out
It appears the investigation involving CM Punk, Kenny Omega, and the Young Bucks is coming to an end or has concluded. After Ace Steel was released from AEW, multiple reports have AEW buying out the remainder of CM Punk’s contract. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The news comes just two months after the now infamous post-All Out Press Conference involving Punk, where he went off on the company and those within the company. The aftermath so a backstage fight happen as all of the participants were stripped of their newly won championships.
According to Meltzer, neither AEW nor Punk have commented on or denied this story. However, there are legal reasons why they can’t comment on it. Outside of commenting on exactly what happened during the fight, there is still a sticking point to the length of the non-compete clause if CM Punk were to be bought out.
Obviously, with Triple H taking over running WWE creatively, there is a fear, Punk could jump ship. That is to say, they would even want him back. We know FOX wanted him to be in the company and wrestle, but WWE was not going to pay him. Hence why he was just hired for the Backstage show. However, given the climate in WWE and Punk still having drawing power, you just never know. It could be like an Eric Bischoff-Vince McMahon moment like we saw in 2002.
We know Punk is out injured for several more months as he got hurt in his match with Jon Moxley. The return of CM Punk in the Summer of 2021 was great for the company, but in 2022 it was all downhill. Both reigns ended with him losing the title because of injury. You have to wonder if that is the last time we see CM Punk in a wrestling ring again.
As it has been pointed out, you never if cooler heads eventually prevail and AEW turns this reality into a great wrestling storyline that leads to Kenny Omega taking on CM Punk at a PPV. Who knows, what we do know is that anything involving CM Punk is not official until it is really official.

AEW News: Young Bucks and Kenny Omega Return
On the October 26th edition of AEW Dynamite, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks returned to the company as the investigation into the post-ALL Out press conference has come to an end. Currently, Omega, Matt and Nick Jackson are just resuming their backstage roles according to PW Insider. However, it is only a matter of time before all three appear on television as Fighful Select reports.
Over the last couple of weeks, Omega and the Bucks have been mentioned on television. This was a first because once the brawl happened, there was no mention of them on TV. Now on the October 26th edition of AEW Dynamite, there was a video mentioning all three and their disappearance since the beginning of this new company.

It will be interesting to see the direction these three head in. Of course, everyone hopes Punk will be back too. As Meltzer mentions on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Live, the direction the trio could go in is taking back the trios titles they won at ALL Out from Death Triangle. It is a ready-made feud and with dissension in Death Triangle, the Elite could regain their titles. This last part is total speculation, but Omega and Pac have history and the match would be quite good for Full Gear.
