Wrestling Roundup
AEW News: Adam Cole’s Injury Status and Update
In a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Mailbag, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez provided an update on the timeline of Adam Cole and why he has not been on TV or wrestled in several months. According to Meltzer, he is dealing with a “really bad concussion.” During the four-way for the IWGP World Title at Forbidden Door according to Meltzer, where the injury occurred to Adam Cole. Now many people are wondering when he will return to the ring. However, it is unclear when they will happen. He could be cleared by AEW tomorrow or it could be never. So it is a wait-and-see process with Cole. Hopefully, Adam Cole can return to action as he is such a great asset.
WWE News: Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley Set for Crown Jewel
With WWE getting ready over to Crown Jewel, during the season premiere of RAW, Brock Lesnar returned to the company and he had his sight set on Bobby Lashley. Lesnar cost Lashley his United States Championship. Recall, Lashley beat Lesnar at the Royal Rumble to retain the WWE Championship. In that match, Roman Reigns interfered to allow Lashley to pick up the victory. Now with Lashley, not a champion anymore, Lesnar will likely win in Saudi to get his win back. And the match has been added to the card according to Fightful.com.
AEW News: Hangman Adam Page’s Injury Status and Update
It was a scary moment at AEW Dynamite Tuesday night in Cincinnati as Hangman Adam Page was carried off on a stretcher after being hit with a King Kong Lariat from Jon Moxley. Moxley was obviously concerned and showed class as Page was being carted off. The match was stopped as Page was knocked out by Moxley. AEW gave an update on Page later in the night after he went to the hospital.

Taz along with the rest of the commentary team was concerned. Good to see Page was responsive. But you never like to see anyone get injured in the ring.
However, following that MJF came out and made the match official for Full Gear with Jon Moxley for the AEW World Title.

WWE/AEW News: Where Will Bandido Sign?
The top free agent in the business Bandido, who had a great match with Chris Jericho on AEW Dynamite has yet to sign the AEW contract that Tony Khan offered him. WWE also wants Bandido as well. According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, Bandido went over to Japan to work some dates. “Both companies want him and as soon as he signs, they will release the news of his signing. That is the kind of news they do not need to delay right now.” Meltzer went on to say Bandido is leaning towards AEW but there is nothing new.
WWE News: Triple H Reducing the Number of Premium Live Events
It is a new era under Triple H and his regime. WWE is finally cutting down the PLEs (Premium Live Events) for 2023. According to Sportskedia via Wrestling Observer, there will be no Day 1 PPV to begin 2023. That means there is no event between Survivor Series and Royal Rumble. This is the first step in reducing the number of shows during the year. Now the current calendar for 2023 shows 12 events for the main roster. That does not include two Saudi Arabia shows. However, Alvarez of Wrestling Observer notes, it appears there will be more International shows next year. But it appears the gimmick of PPVs may be going away.
According to multiple sources, WWE Day 1 2023 has been cancelled and there will not be a Premium Live Event between Survivor Series & Royal Rumble

Let’s be honest there are too many events. Not enough time for storylines to develop. It feels like every three weeks there is a show. Not enough time to build and a ton of rematches as well. Ideally, the WWE PPV/PLE calendar would be Four Major shows and a few smaller events in between. A show a month or two shows a month is just too much.
