This is the second time Roman Reigns has topped the PWI’s 500 List. Reigns has been in the top seven every year since 2014 with the exception of 2020 when he finished 14th. That year he took time away as he did not want to get COVID as he dealt with his illness.
Kenny Omega topped the 2021 PWI 500.
The evaluation period for this year’s PWI 500 is July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022. The criteria for ranking includes win-loss record, technical ability, influence on the sport, success against the highest grade of competition, success against the most diverse competition, and activity.
During this time period, Roman continued his run as WWE Universal Champion. Along the way he picked up the WWE Championship defeating the likes of Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38, to go along with another win over Lesnar prior to that. In addition, he defeated John Cena, Matt Riddle, Goldberg, Finn Balor, Edge, and more.
The Top 10 of PWI 500:
1 – Roman Reigns

3 – CM Punk
4 – Adam Page
5 – Bobby Lashley
6 – Cody Rhodes
