It’s Thursday and you know what that means… ratings for Wednesday night AEW Dynamite are out. This week AEW Dynamite was highlighted by Bryan Danielson versus Daniel Garcia along with the trios’ tournament. Let’s see how this week’s show did.
AEW Dynamite Sees Kenny Omega Return
This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured a two out of three falls match between Bryan Danielson and Daniel Garcia. Plus in the main event, we found out who the mystery partner for the Young Bucks was. Indeed, it was Kenny Omega who returned to action.
With that being said, this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite was live in West Virginia and the crowd was electric. The show was jam-packed with non-stop action. It was a very clean show too. This week’s show was viewed by 957,000 people and did a .30 in the 18-49 demo.
AEW Dynamite last night on TBS (8-10pm):
957,000 viewers
P18-49 rating: 0.30

Both numbers were down from the previous week. AEW Dynamite was ranked number two cable in the demo on cable according to Showbuzzdaily.com. That is because the Real Housewives beat them out in viewers and other demos to be number as they both had a .30 in the 18-49 demo. This is the first time since the Yankees/Mets beat AEW Dynamite for number one in the ratings.
Show Recap
The show opened with AEW setting up CM Punk versus Jon Moxley to unify the AEW World Title. Punk opens up talking about Hangman Adam Page, which was off script before going on a promo on Moxley. Of course, Moxley would come out and send jabs back. Tony Khan and AEW are trying to save these two from fighting before ALL OUT. The two wrestlers brawled and had to be separated by security. They continued to try to get each other but they will have to wait for now. This was the theme throughout the show, Moxley interrupted a match to call out Punk to a match and Punk came down, but again they could not get to each other. The build to this match has been good.
For the opening contest, it was the two out of three falls match between Danielson and Garcia. This was an excellent match. Great storytelling by both wrestlers. That was the theme come to the end of the match. Danielson and Garcia exchanged falls. Garcia has been calling himself the Dragon Slayer, but Danielson was able to make some counters in the match especially to even the matchup. In the end, Danielson was too much and Garcia passed in the Lebell Lock. Post-match, Danielson was showing respect to Garcia looking for a handshake as the crowd chanted You are a wrestler to Garcia. However, Chris Jericho, who was on commentary did not like it and attacked Danielson. But Garcia not a fan of that took Jericho off Danielson as Garcia is torn where his allegiances are.

The other big match of the night saw Kenny Omega return as the Young Bucks partner to open the trios’ tournament against Dragon Lee, Andrade and Rush. This was an excellent main event. Omega is clearly not 100 percent, but it is good to see him back in the ring. He is definitely wearing protective gear for his shoulder area. There were some spots that were definitely crazy for him to take. The Bucks carried the match and both teams pulled out all the stops for an excellent trios match.
In the end, Omega hit the One Winged Angel on Dragon Lee as Omega and the Bucks advance in the tournament. AEW is building to ALL OUT as they announced Toni Storm versus Thunder Rosa for AEW Women’s Title. Also, Tony Khan announced Moxley and Punk next to unify the title, but we will see if that happens.
