It’s Thursday and you know what that means… ratings for Wednesday night AEW Dynamite are out. It has been a while since we did the ratings for Dynamite. Let’s see how week Fight of the Fallen did this week.
Championship Matches Highlight AEW Dynamite
This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured three championship matches including the AEW World Title between Jon Moxley and Rush. After back-to-back weeks of Fyter Fest, this week was Fight of the Fallen. Two weeks from now is Quake by the Lake in Minnesota.
With that being said, this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite was the second week of Fyter Fest and it featured the barbed wire everywhere along with several tag team matches. AEW Dynamite was live from Worcester, MA and the crowd was into everything on this card. The show was really good too. This week’s show was viewed by 976,000 people and did .33 in the 18-49 demo. Both the viewership number and demo were up from the previous. AEW Dynamite was ranked number two cable in the demo on cable according to Showbuzzdaily.com. The Yankees-Mets game was ranked number one on cable.

The show opened with a great match between Rush and Moxley for the AEW World Title. Rush had a great match with Dragon Lee at ROH Death Before Dishonor. Not to mention the other great matches he had with AEW. Moxley’s title run has been great as he continuously defends the title. Again this is the run he should have had back in 2020 before the pandemic hit. This match was excellent. Rush looked super over despite the loss. This match could have gone longer, but it was an excellent way start to the show.
After the match, Chris Jericho came out to set up the rematch between him and Moxley for the title. Moxley to see the Lionheart Chris Jericho, the last survivor of the Hart Family Dungeon. From there we got the FTW Championship match as Ricky Starks defended the title not once but twice. First, he beat Hanhausen quickly, then he asked for a second challenger and Hook came out. Hook defeated Starks to become the new champion. After the match, Starks cut a really good babyface promo before Hobbs turned on him. From there AEW introduced the Trios Titles.
Then we got Dante Martin vs Sammy Guevara. This was a solid match. After the match, there was an angle set up for a mixed tag team match with Ruby Soho, Eddie Kingston, Guevara, and Tay Conti. From there, Jungle Boy cut a killer promo on Christian Cage. Cage of course responded as these two head for a collision at ALL Out.

Things were set up for Rampage and there was a nice segment with the Young Bucks talking about the Trios Tourney they run into Hangman Page, but before they could have a discussion Dark Order showed up. Swerve Strickland beat Tony Neese and Mark Sterling. Post most an angle was set up for the AEW Tag Team Titles. Thunder Rosa and Miyu Yamashita put on an excellent women’s match for the title. The match was set up when Yamashita beat Rosa in Japan. Rosa got her revenge here.
The main event saw Bryan Danielson return to action against Daniel Garcia. This was an excellent main event. Danielson worked in his head and neck injuries into the match. Great storytelling by Danielson. Garcia got the victory but these two put on a wrestling clinic. Didn’t need the Jake Hagger stuff, but overall quality match.
