It’s Thursday and you know what that means… ratings for Wednesday night AEW Dynamite are out. It has been a while since we did the ratings for Dynamite. Let’s see how week 2 of Fyter Fest did.
Barbed Wire Everywhere Highlight AEW Dynamite
This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite was centred around the feud between Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho with the Barbed Wire Everywhere match. In addition, Shark Week was coming up and their new TV owner Discovery made sure to make you know Shark Week is coming up.
With that being said, this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite was the second week of Fyter Fest and it featured the barbed wire everywhere along with several tag team matches. AEW Dynamite was live from Atlanta, GA and the crowd was into everything on this card. The show was really good too. This week’s show was viewed by 910,000 people and did .32 in the 18-49 demo. Both the viewership number and demo were down from the previous. That being said AEW Dynamite has been number one in the demo on cable for five consecutive according to Showbuzzdaily.com.
AEW Dynamite last night on TBS:
910,000 viewers
P18-49 rating: 0.32Dynamite was #1 among cable originals for the day in P18-49, according to Showbuzz, #7 including broadcast primetime. Same rankings and demo as last week.

The show opened with a great match between Darby Allin and Brody King. Allin and Sting are on a collision course with the House of Black (King and Malakai Black). Brody overmatched Allin but Allin showed the fight he always does in these types of matches. Sting came out to save Darby post-match and squared off with Malakai Black before the heels stood tall. Miro came out still sporting the eye black and glasses. He just stood on the ramp.
Another great match saw Best Friends take on Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta of the Blackpool Combat Club. This was an excellent match telling the story of Yuta getting in with the Best Friends when Trent was out. He got his initial training from them but wanted to do more so he got the respect of Moxley and William Regal. This was a great match with Regal and Cassidy on commentary. From there we saw Christian Cage and Luchasaurus in action. It was a quick squash match that saw Jungle Boy return. Though many people complain that Luchasaurus just let Jungle Boy go after Christian after weeks of being a heel. The fact is that Christian got OUT WORKED! See the theme here.
From there we had Ricky Starks defending the FTW title against Cole Karter formerly Tony Two Dimes of NXT 2.0. Starks is a star and last week’s tag team match proved it. Next week he will face Danhausen for the gold.

The main event saw Kingston versus Jericho with the Jericho Appreciation Society in a shark cage above the ring. This was a bloody match between both combatants. However, AEW once again just tried to do too much in this match. It didn’t feel like there was a winner in this one. Good match, but the finish could have been better.
Other notes from the show include AEW setting up the ROH PPV Death before Dishonor this Saturday night. FTR cut a great promo ahead of their 2 out of 3 falls match with the Briscoes. This is shaping up to be a good card.
