It’s Thursday and you know what that means… ratings for Wednesday night AEW Dynamite are out. Though ratings were down last week, it was a good show. Better than in weeks past. This week’s show was jam-packed with loads of fun matches and segments coming off Double or Nothing
MJF Promo Highlights AEW Dynamite
AEW was in California for the first time ever coming off the heels of a solid Double or Nothing PPV on Sunday. The June 1st episode took place in Los Angeles, California in the Fabulous Forum. AEW Dynamite did back to back over 900,000 viewer mark for the first time in several weeks. Also, these post PPV shows always do so well.

It was the third straight week viewership was over the 900,000 mark. This show was an excellent show from start to finish. With executives in town, AEW had an edgy Attitude Era feel to the show. Especially with the MJF Promo from last night. If you have not seen it go check it out. This guy is the best in the business. Came out after putting over Wardlow on Sunday, and cut a killer pipebomb promo as it seems AEW is starting the blur the lines. They are taking a real-life situation between Tony Khan and MJF and putting it on TV. MJF has gone from the biggest heel to the biggest babyface with one promo. This is something fans will tune in to every week.
The show opened with CM Punk, the new champion in action, with FTR against the Gunn Club and Max Caster. Caster always delivers with his raps. Solid match and after FTR and Punk cut promos to set up Forbidden Door. At the show, Punk will take on Hiroshi Tanahashi from NJPW at that show. After the MJF promo, Miro returned and answered Johnny Elite’s open challenge. Following that Jericho Appreciation Society came out to talk about their win at Double or Nothing. This set up Eddie Kingston coming out to set up Blood and Guts. You knew William Regal would say the words.

A fun 10-man tag followed that segment. No Adam Cole or Jeff Hardy both guys nursing injuries. Darby Allin filled in for Jeff. Cole called in a favour and got Hikuleo to fill in for him. This was a fun AEW-style match. Bucks want the belts. So does FTR. The dynamic between Christian Cage, Matt Hardy, and Jungle Boy is hitting a boiling point. Athena had a good promo with Stokley Hathway as Jade Cargill’s new mouthpiece. This set up a lot going forward.
Wardlow was in action as an official member of the AEW roster. After that, we had a solid tag team match between Toni Storm, Ruby Soho, Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D, and Jamie Hayter. The main event saw Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia have a solid wrestling match that spilled out on the floor. For the first time ever, AEW Dynamite ran over the time allotted to them. This also set up the Blood Guts match that will happen in Detroit.
