The show was solid as Tony Khan and company upped their level with Double or Nothing approaching the end of May. AEW Dynamite’s main event was the ladder match for the TNT Championship between Sammy Guevara versus Scorpio Sky. It was a great way to bookend the show. Though again AEW is deciding to play hot potato with the TNT Championship. Hopefully, Sky has a longer title reign than his first one. These guys pulled out some crazy spots. It is worth watching.
The show opened with an Owen Hart Tournament Qualifier between Dax and Cash of FTR. And of course, this match had callbacks to Bret Hart and Owen Hart from Wrestlemania X. Basically it was a tribute match to the Hart Family. This was an awesome old-school wrestling match. CM Punk was commentary and after the match, it was announced he will take on Adam Page for the AEW World Title at Double or Nothing.
The story being told between Wardlow and MJF has been fantastic. But anything MJF does is great. The match between Lance Archer and Wardlow was good, especially the finish of the powerbomb symphony. MJF teased Big Cass coming next week to take on the Wardog. Also, the Blackpool Combat Club was in action and man Wheeler Yuta got a great pop.
