The show was awesome and Tony Kahn has shown that less can be more. AEW Dynamite opened with a great match between Dax Harwood of FTR and the returning CM Punk. This was an excellent match between men who love Bret Hart and it was a Bret Hart match. The action continued with an 8-man Tornado Tag Team match that featured Sting, Darby Allin, and the Hardys taking on Private Party, the Butcher and the Blade of the AFO. This was a fun match that had so many crazy spots including one from Sting and Jeff Hardy.
In addition, we saw a great match between two former Ring of Honor members in Jay Lethal and Adam Cole. Cole called out Hangman Adam Page after the match. It will be interesting to see if Cole gets the belt put on him. Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson were also in action, with Moxley naming the group the Blackpool Combat Club. In the main event, we got the Jericho Appreciation Society in action. Chris Jericho and Daniel Garcia took on John Silver and Alex Reynolds of Dark Order. Jericho’s new stable and character of being a sports entertainer in a pro wrestling company is brilliant.
