Welcome back to another edition of the weekend wrestling ratings with WWE Smackdown and AEW Rampage. This week’s edition of Smackdown was pre-taped as WWE was flying out to Saudi Arabia at its normal time. AEW Rampage was on at 7 pm as TNT was taken over by NBA All-Star Weekend. Let’s see how the shows did.
WWE Smackdown was viewed by 2,173,000 million people and did a .54 in the 18-49 demo which is about 704,000 people. The number is down from a week ago. The demo was the same from a week ago when WWE Smackdown did a .56 in the 19-49 demo. Even with the Olympics on WWE Smackdown was tied for number three in the demo on network TV.

Smackdown was heading into the Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia. Roman Reigns and Goldberg had a face-to-face ahead of their Universal Title match at Elimination Chamber. There was the usual contract signing from WWE as Rhonda Rousey and Naomi against Charolette Flair and Sonya Deville was made official for the show as well.
In addition, there was a great match between Ricochet and Sheamus plus Sami Zayn won the Intercontinental Championship from Shinsuke Nakamura.

AEW Rampage was viewed by 471,000 people and did a .20 in the 18-49 demo which is about 261,000 people. The viewership was also down from a week ago. As mentioned previously mentioned Rampage was at a new time 7 pm as it was NBA All-Star Weekend. This was the lowest total viewership for Rampage since December 31st. The .20 in the 18-49 was good for 11th on cable and 18th including network TV according to Showbuzzdaily.com. Like the previous week, AEW was affected by Olympic coverage.
Rampage continues to be a solid second show. It has its core audience that will be there. Jay White made his wrestling debut in AEW. He was on four shows in four days. (we know Rampage is taped after Dynamite, but still quite remarkable.) White had a great match against Trent Beretta. Adam Cole took on 10 of Dark Order in a great opener as Cole will be challenging Hangman Adam Page for the title at Revolution. Powerhouse Hobbs took on Dante Martin in a qualifying match for the face of the Revolution ladder match. Hobbs joins Wardlow and Keith Lee in the match thus far.
We also saw Serena Deeb in action plus AEW announced Thunder Rose will battle Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D for the Women’s title at Revolution.
