Who kicks off 2022 as winners at Day One?
WWE is here with a brand new pay-per-view, and a show on a Saturday no less. Day One has eight matches announced for the card, including five title bouts. Evan & Javier from Crossbody of Work Podcast are here to predict the action. Here’s who they have winning at Day One:

Cesaro & Ricochet vs Ridge Holland & Sheamus
Evan: A pre-show tag match with little stakes. That means it is usually a safe bet to be a showcase for the newest talent. Let’s say that Holland gets a chance to shine here.
Prediction – Holland & Sheamus
Javier: Ridge Holland is still new and needs a win, so here’s hoping WWE doesn’t fumble this. I really liked him in NXT, but nowadays you can’t even count on the body guys to be secure with their booking so who knows.
Prediction – Holland & Sheamus

Drew McIntyre vs Madcap Moss
Evan: What exactly is a madcap? Is it a funny hat? Someone who is quick to anger? Or is it just a fun name that Baron Corbin gave to Moss? Regardless, I see them cheating to win.
Prediction – Madcap Moss
Javier: I have no comment on this match.
Prediction – Drew McIntyre

The Usos (c) vs The New Day – SmackDown Tag Team Championships
Evan: I still believe that King Woods has some singles pushes ahead of him with his current gimmick. With that, New Day won’t be capturing the tag titles here.
Prediction – The Usos
Javier: This has to be the least significant match these two teams have ever had. No heat, no tension, nothing. Heck, I didn’t even know this was on the card. I say Usos win and drop it somewhere on the road to Wrestlemania.
Prediction – The Usos

RKBro (c) vs Street Profits – Raw Tag Team Championships
Evan: I will admit that RKBro has had much more longevity than I imagined at first. The team genuinely clicks. I think they keep their title reign going here, but never rule out WWE putting the titles back on the very entertaining Profits.
Prediction – RKBro
Javier: The build has been weird because Montez Ford was out for a few weeks, but I’m interested to see this match. Both teams are very good and this has great potential to be the match of the night.
Prediction – RKBro

Edge vs The Miz
Evan: Predicting matches to end on a DQ is both tricky and a huge bummer. That’s exactly what I’m predicting here. Edge wins by DQ, setting up a second match for these two at the Royal Rumble.
Prediction – Edge
Javier: My guess is Miz wins the match with help from Maryse and we get the mixed tag match with Beth Phoenix at Royal Rumble.
Prediction – Miz

Becky Lynch (c) vs Liv Morgan – Raw Women’s Championship
Evan: If the multiverse has taught us anything, it is that there is a world where Liv Morgan has been Women’s Champion by now. Unfortunately, it isn’t this universe. Morgan could be built up to take the title off Lynch, but it isn’t right here.
Prediction – Becky Lynch
Javier: Everything about the build and whatnot has pointed with big, bright lights at Liv Morgan winning this match. Unfortunately, I just don’t think she does. Becky has held a championship every single day that she’s been an active competitor since Wrestlemania 35. I don’t see Morgan being the woman that ends that.
Prediction – Becky Lynch

Big E (c) vs Seth Rollins vs Kevin Owens vs Bobby Lashley – WWE Championship
Evan: I sadly think they may take the title off of my guy Big E. It is great to see him elevated to the world championship level, but they may want a new guy with the strap for Wrestlemania season. Let’s take Lashley to become champ once more in a shock.
Prediction – Bobby Lashley
Javier: I would love for Seth Rollins to win this match. I would absolutely love that. However, I don’t think it is his time yet. I predict that Big E wins this match by pinning Kevin Owens, faces Rollins at the Rumble, and drops the title, and we get the fun partnership of Rollins and Owens through the road to Wrestlemania and beyond.
Prediction – Big E

Roman Reigns (c) vs Brock Lesnar – Universal Championship
Evan: The hardest match on the card to call, and it is all because of Paul Heyman. Where do his true loyalties lie? Another wrinkle is the increase in COVID cases and Reigns’ health. I do think Reigns will win, but those are factors to keep an eye on.
Prediction – Roman Reigns
Javier: My guess is Paul Heyman swerves the people and costs Brock the match. Roman retains and keeps the belt until Wrestlemania where he faces Brock and McIntyre in a triple threat match. Book it!
Prediction – Roman Reigns
