It’s Thursday and you know what that means… ratings for Wednesday night Dynamite are out. It is the final Dynamite on TNT until the specials. Tony Kahn is pulling out all the stops to close the new year for AEW Dynamite and TNT.
AEW Dynamite: New Year’s Smash
AEW Dynamite New Year’s Smash was back in AEW’s home Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida. So many great events happened in Daily’s Place during the pandemic before AEW went back out on the road. As previously mentioned this was the final Dynamite on TNT as beginning next week, Dynamite moves to TBS.
AEW Dynamite was viewed by 975,00 people. This is up/down from a week ago. In addition, the show did a .37 in the 18-49 demo which was about 485,000 people. The final AEW Dynamite on TNT was fourth on the night on cable. They were behind three college football games according to Showbuzzdaily.com.
This was another excellent show from start to finish. AEW knew how to close out the TNT era right. AEW Dynamite finished with the trios match of reDRagon (Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly) and Adam Cole taking on Best Friends and Orange Cassidy. This was a fun match. AEW is not beating around the bush with O’Reilly and Cole. There is still tension between those two and it showed during the match. The Young Bucks came down to help Cole, Fish and O’Reilly. But after the match is where things got interesting. Stay tuned to see where that goes.

We also got the Thunder Rosa-Jade Cargill TBS Title tournament semifinal as Mercedes Martinez showed up. There were great promos from MJF, CM Punk and others.
AEW has loaded up the card for the TBS era not will we get Hangman Adam Page-Bryan Danielson II, AEW Tag Title match between Lucha Bros and Jurassic Express plus the finals of the TBS Title tournament.
