NXT TakeOver War Games is here. Who is walking away a winner?
It is time for a double ring extravaganza. NXT TakeOver War Games is back with two War Games matches. We’ve also got two title matches and a hair vs hair match. Who walks away a winner? Evan & Javier from the Crossbody of Work Podcast are here to offer predictions for TakeOver War Games.
Cameron Grimes vs Duke Hudson – Hair vs Hair Match
Evan: If Grimes loses, is it hair and beard? Will he come out looking like a Danny Burch-style cueball? We’ll never know because Grimes is going to get his revenge.
Prediction – Cameron Grimes
Javier: He’s already had to cut a good part of his hair off. Don’t do the man dirty like this. He has to win.
Prediction – Cameron Grimes
Roderick Strong (c) vs Joe Gacy – Cruiserweight Championship
Evan: The death of the Cruiserweight division is coming, and his name is Joe Gacy. WWE clearly loves his “woke” gimmick and they’ll use this body-shaming angle to end the cruiserweight division. I miss Cedric Alexander, Buddy Murphy, Tony Nese, all of them.
Prediction – Joe Gacy
Javier: Conventional thinking would be Gacy winning because of Harland or whatever mini Brock’s new name is. However, Diamond Mine is over big right now and I think Roddy should keep his reign going.
Prediction – Roderick Strong
Imperium vs Kyle O’Reilly & Von Wagner – Tag Team Championships
Evan: I am not sold on Von Wagner yet. This should be a good showcase match for him, and WWE loves putting the titles on odd-couple pairings. Guess who just talked himself into a new prediction!
Prediction – Kyle O’Reilly & Von Wagner
Javier: Von Wagner is getting the rocket strapped to him, but O’Reilly is halfway out the door. Imperium should keep the belts and keep it moving.
Prediction – Imperium
Dakota Kai & Toxic Attraction vs Raquel Gonzalez, Io Shirai, Cora Jade & Kay Lee Ray – Women’s War Games Match
Evan: NXT is building around Toxic Attraction, and this is going to be them continuing their dominance. Gonzalez is bound for the main roster, maybe at the Royal Rumble. I think it’s Mandy Rose & her crew’s time to shine.
Prediction – Dakota Kai & Toxic Attraction
Javier: I think that the heels will win for one reason: Kay Lee Ray. She sticks out like a sore thumb with the babyfaces because she isn’t one. I think she eventually turns on her team and starts a program with either Raquel Gonzalez or Io Shirai.
Prediction – Dakota Kai & Toxic Attraction
Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Pete Dunne & LA Knight vs Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Grayson Waller & Tony D’Angelo – Men’s War Games Match
Evan: NXT is all about the new era. Sorry to the old lot, but it is time for Breakker and crew to get the spotlight. Also, why is LA Knight part of the black and gold team? He’s just old, not an NXT classic talent. Replace him with William Regal, you cowards.
Prediction – Team 2.0
Javier: I think the new faces of NXT are going to win for two reasons. The first, Bron Breakker is awesome and needs this moment. The second, this show is now booked by Vince and the Boys so they’re going to do everything they can to bury the old NXT. Might even be a five-minute match.
Prediction – Team 2.0
That’s who we have walking away from War Games as winners. Agree or disagree? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter at @FPC_Wrestling.
