As mentioned before this was the go-home show for Smackdown. As teams battle for Brand Supremacy, Big E showed up on Smackdown to help out his New Day running buddy King Xavier. E was able to stand tall over Roman Reigns after he ruined Woods’s crown. In addition, WWE again switched things up for the teams heading into Survivor Series.
AEW Rampage was viewed by 566,000 people and did a .22 in the 18-49 demo. This seems to be the number Rampage is getting as the show starts at 10 pm on a Friday. That is a tough slot for wrestling considering Smackdown starts at 8 pm. However, AEW still gets an audience and is doing better than NXT 2.0 is doing on Tuesday nights. AEW Rampage was 17th on cable for a Friday night and 25th in the demo for all of TV according to Showbuzzdaily.com.
This week the feud with Jurassic Express and the Superkliq continued as they took on Adam Cole and former Undisputed stablemate Bobby Fish. The show opened with Billy Gunn vs Darby Allin, something we don’t need. And Jade Cargill advanced in the TBS Championship Tournament. AEW also announced Winter Is Coming as well. Recall Kenny Omega won the AEW World Title last year at that event from Jon Moxley. Sting also debuted that night as well.
