WWE 2K22 has some new announcements to get excited about.
When WWE took 2021 off from making a new 2K game, fans were relieved. The game had been stale for years with many of the same issues and a repetitive look plaguing the game. Now WWE 2K22 is on the horizon, and we got a sneak peek of what to expect from an early-release trailer.

The biggest takeaway for some fans is the return of GM Mode. One of the best modes from the SmackDown vs Raw era of games, fans get to control a roster of wrestlers with a budget to try and make their show the best show possible. It’s one of the most fun modes WWE games have ever had, and it’s had a resurgence partly in part due to Xavier Woods & Tyler Breeze playing it on Up Up Down Down.
Also announced is another Showcase mode. This year will focus on the career of Rey Mysterio, a legend who often doesn’t get enough spotlight. Other highlights include a MyFaction mode where it seems you get to control your own legendary group and a MyRise mode that looks like another crack at a career mode. Universe mode also remains for fans of the non-budget GM model.
Is this enough to get you to buy WWE 2K22? The roster may not be as accurate as other years thanks to the slew of releases from WWE, but the gameplay looks to be an improvement.
