What a night it was in Philadelphia for the Two-Year Anniversary show of AEW Dynamite. It was a loaded card with lots of great matches including a big return. The main event of the show was the Casino Ladder Match.
Participants included Orange Cassidy, Lance Archer, Jon Moxley, Andrade El Idolo, Matt Hardy & PAC, but everyone during the match was waiting to see who the Joker card was going to be. When the countdown was over for the final entrant fans were treated to a returning Hangman Adam Page to AEW and the place went nuts.

When this match was announced many people speculated who the final entrant was going to be. There was talk of Hangman Adam Page being the Joker card. But nobody officially knew as AEW likes to keep things secretive. Considering Page has been out since August, this would be a way for Page to continue his storyline with AEW World Champion Kenny Omega. Recall, Hangman Adam Page was supposed to fight Kenny Omega at All Out in Chicago. However, he took time off to be with his wife as she gave birth to their first child.
With guys like CM Punk, Adam Cole, and Bryan Danielson debuting in AEW, the company had to find a way to get one of their top babyfaces back in the title picture before it was too late. There was fear AEW might forget how over Adam Page was before his hiatus to be away. But from the sounds of that pop in Philadelphia on Wednesday night, the fans did not forget who “Hangman” Adam Page was.
And boy oh boy did Page pick up where he left after being written off TV. As the final entrant, Page was a house of fire hitting everything in sight. He even performed his finishing move the Dead Eye off the top of a ladder through a table.

The match came down to Page and Moxley brawling on the ladder. Both men were deserving of a title shot. However, Moxley would not stop the Hangman on this night. Page sent Moxley crashing to the mat. From there he unclasped the poker chip earning his shot at the AEW World Championship.

The best storyline is back on. And what a way to get your spot at the top. Now Hangman Adam Page has his sites on Kenny Omega and this storyline has been building for two years. Fans are hoping AEW finally pays it off with Adam Page winning the title from Omega. And after the pop he got after winning the match last night, they better. Because if not now, then when. It is Hangman Adam Page’s time.
