NXT TakeOver 36 Predictions
If you thought the excitement of Summerslam weekend was over, you’re in for a treat. NXT TakeOver 36 is Sunday night, and we’ve got five title matches to look forward to. Who is going to walk out of NXT TakeOver with the gold? We’ve got Evan & Javier from Crossbody of Work here to offer up predictions.

WALTER (c) vs Ilja Dragunov – NXT UK Championship
Evan: This is going to be so damn good. I’d bet money on it being the best match at NXT TakeOver. WALTER is finally toppled. Then he can set his sights on the NXT Championship proper.
Prediction – Ilja Dragunov
Javier: I am so beyond excited for this match. This is not only a match of the year contender but a match that could be historically great. WALTER has been champion for the better part of two years, but the time has come. Dragunov was the man to put him down during his dominant independent run and he’s now the man to take away the NXT UK Championship. I can’t wait.
Prediction – Ilja Dragunov

LA Knight (c) vs Cameron Grimes – Million Dollar Championship; if Grimes loses, Ted DiBiase becomes Knight’s butler
Evan: I think DiBiase is likely down for anything, so I could see him sticking around to be Knight’s butler. More likely though is that Grimes gets the Million Dollar Title and continues to be incredibly over.
Prediction – Cameron Grimes
Javier: Grimes was like the most over person on the roster before this whole butler gimmick. It got old super quick and it’s time to course-correct the stonks stud. Cameron Grimes is to the moon with a win at Takeover.
Prediction – Cameron Grimes

Raquel Gonzalez (c) vs Dakota Kai – NXT Women’s Championship
Evan: This is my overthinking prediction. I usually guess wrong on at least one championship that I was sure wouldn’t change hands. For this card, I’m going to go against my better judgment and say Kai cheats to beat her former friend.
Prediction – Dakota Kai
Javier: Raquel Gonzalez does not work as a babyface. Dakota Kai is a better babyface than heel. This feud was flipped from the beginning and suffered because of it. Anyways, Gonzalez should continue her run with the belt and put down her former partner.
Prediction – Raquel Gonzalez

Karrion Kross (c) vs Samoa Joe – NXT Championship
Evan: I can’t pick the guy who lost to Jeff Hardy on his Raw debut.
Prediction – Samoa Joe
Javier: Normally I would say Karrion Kross would win this match, but he’s on his way to performing on Monday nights full time so Samoa Joe gets the nod. The build to this feud started off hot and cooled off a bit. It’ll be incredible to see Joe performing again and hopefully get a great moment in the end. Hopefully, this leads to a match with WALTER and another dominant run for the Ring General.
Prediction – Samoa Joe

Kyle O’Reilly vs Adam Cole – 2 out of 3 Falls Match
Evan: I am looking forward to seeing these two beat the living daylights out of one another. I think O’Reilly will come out on top as Adam Cole goes to the main roster. He needs the big win to put a bow on the breakup of the Undisputed Era
Prediction – Kyle O’Reilly
Javier: The story points to Kyle O’Reilly getting the big win, the contract status points to Kyle O’Reilly getting the big win, and the career trajectories point to Kyle O’Reilly getting the big win. Will they give the win to Adam Cole in a last-ditch effort to appease him so he signs a new contract? Maybe. But I think O’Reilly puts an end to Cole in NXT, BayBay.
Prediction – Kyle O’Reilly
