CM Punk has returned, who should he face?
In a move that some never thought would happen, CM Punk has returned to wrestling. He returned on AEW Rampage on Friday night to the adoring crowd in Chicago. If you somehow haven’t heard the ovation yet, check it out.

Fans are rightfully pumped for Punk’s return. On the show, he set up his first match in 7 years. He’ll face Darby Allin at All Out on September 5th. After Allin, AEW has a plethora of dream matches for Punk to have. Here are 3 of the most anticipated matchups that CM Punk can have in AEW.
Adam Page
This feud is so ready-made for AEW should they choose to have Punk in a tweener/heel role. These two are both incredibly over, but with huge differences. Punk is famously straight-edge; Page brings his beers to the ring. One is confident in calling himself the “Best in the World”. The other’s confidence issues have been his biggest undoing so far. Whether for a title or not, a feud between these two (and by extension between Punk and The Dark Order) would be an amazing matchup.
MJF
Let Punk challenge the most obnoxious person in the wrestling business since he was a heel. MJF versus Punk on the microphone would be a mone\y matchup. Punk has said he wants to work with the younger stars on the roster, so a match against MJF is a great opportunity for both guys. MJF can have some issues with Punk that are similar to his issues with Jericho: two old stars holding onto their glory years who need to be put out to pasture. If Punk stays purely babyface, this should be one of the first feuds.
Kenny Omega
This is THE money match for Punk in AEW. Punk is known as “The Best in the World” while Omega has laid a legitimate claim to that title during Punk’s retirement. Many thought that Omega would be the first match for Punk in the company. Omega already has a dancing partner for All Out in Christian, so maybe it starts right after. Catapult Punk to the top of the card and give him and Omega a long time to paint a masterpiece on a canvas.
