What could be the match of the night at TakeOver & Wrestlemania?
We are in one of the best stretches for wrestling fans of the year: Wrestlemania season. Over the next few days, WWE will bring the best in NXT, Raw & SmackDown. For the first time ever, both TakeOver and Wrestlemania will be two-night affairs. With four nights of wrestling to enjoy there are going to be some standout matches. What could be the surprise match of the night for each night? Here are the leading contenders:
TakeOver: Stand & Deliver Night One: MSK vs Legado del Fantasma vs Grizzled Young Veterans for the NXT Tag Team Championships
The first night of Stand & Deliver is looking stacked. WALTER vs Tommaso Ciampa is going to be a match where both men get their licks in and Ciampa will probably get his chest caved in. The gauntlet match will be entertaining for sure given the competitors, but it won’t be the best six man match on the card. MSK, Legado del Fantasma & GYV have a chance to add to the history of great NXT Tag Team Championship matches. With the injury to Danny Burch has opened the tag tiles up to three worthy teams. Any of these three teams could conceivably be the next champs. They’ll lay their bodies on the line and walk away with the match of the night.
TakeOver: Stand & Deliver Night Two: Jordan Devlin vs Santos Escobar for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship
It’s going to be a big, big weekend for Santos Escobar and his crew. The unification of the current and interim NXT Cruiserweight Champions looked like a good match, but got taken to the next level by Shawn Michaels of all people. At the end of the March 24th NXT, HBK came to ringside and slid a ladder between Escobar & Devlin. Now these two will meet in a match type that lends itself to being a show-stealer. Escobar is likely the favorite to take sole ownership of the crown, but these two have some of the most memorable spots of the whole TakeOver event.

Wrestlemania 37 Night One: Sasha Banks (c) vs Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship
The first night of Wrestlemania 37 has some amazing matches lined up that could steal the show. Cesaro versus Seth Rollins looks to be a great pure wrestling showcase, and Bobby Lashley defending against Drew McIntyre will be good as well. The number one match to look forward to on Saturday though is Bianca Belair challenging Sasha Banks. Has WWE done this feud any favors in their booking of this feud? No, not particularly. That doesn’t mean this match won’t be top notch. Both of these women are incredible performers, and the potential moment of Belair winning her first title in WWE and being ESTablished as the next big thing? That’s show stealing right there.
Wrestlemania 37 Night Two: Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn
Some things are good even the 1000th time. Pizza, a sunset, and Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn beating the crap out of one another. Yes, the main event triple threat is going to be epic. Asuka & Rhea Ripley could have a great match, and The Fiend is going to do some weird stuff to Randy Orton (please no projections of bugs this year). But for pure wrestling enjoyment, Owens & Zayn could be the match of the night. They’ve had this match many times, but they always manage to make it meaningful and a little different. I don’t think this match needs Logan Paul (most things don’t need Logan Paul) but it will be a great match.
