The Main Event: Miz-ery
In the year 2021, The Miz is WWE Champion heading into Wrestlemania season. I normally don’t say this, but thank goodness for Fastlane. Let’s back up and see how we got here.
The main event Elimination Chamber for the WWE Championship was a hard hitting affair with some memorable moments. Randy Orton got eliminated by Kofi Kingston, continuing their old feud. Orton left by RKO’ing everyone around. That led to Omos ripping the back off of AJ Styles’ pod so he could try to capitalize. He didn’t get the pins, but it was a heck of a visual.

Kingston & Hardy were eliminated next, leading to a final three of Styles, Sheamus & McIntyre. Styles eliminated Sheamus, and a mid-air Claymore eliminated Styles. McIntyre retained, but his night wasn’t over. Earlier, Miz & MVP were seen discussing something backstage.

After the match, Bobby Lashley emerged. He looked extremely pissed after losing his US Championship earlier in the night. After dismantling McIntyre, Miz emerged with his Money in the Bank briefcase. It took two Skull Crushing Finales, and Miz managed to win the WWE Championship once again.

What will the deal with The Hurt Business mean? My guess is a match with Bobby Lashley at Fastlane where Lashley takes the belt. Then likely a match between Lashley and McIntyre at Wrestlemania. Let’s hope it isn’t a long run for Miz, but it did make for a shocking ending.
The Undercard:
Opening the show was the Universal Championship #1 Contenders Elimination Chamber. The start of the match can be described as Cesaro being on a mission. The man looked incredible in the early stages against Daniel Bryan and throughout the match.

Sami Zayn tried to team with Kevin Owens, but Owens was not having any of it. It’s fantastic when WWE allows for wrestlers to remember previous feuds and relationships.

Jey Uso trapped Owens’ arm in the door while Zayn was getting moved out. It was a brutal attack and led to Owens’ elimination after repeatedly super kicking him.
"Cousin @WWERomanReigns has gotta be smiling about that!"

In the end, it was Daniel Bryan who came out on top in a long and brutal matchup. His reward: a Universal Championship match immediately afterwards. Bryan did have a surprise Yes Lock early, but Reigns was able to put him away with a guillotine.

The big surprise was immediately after the match, when Edge speared Reigns. Edge pointed at the sign, so we know it’s official: Edge versus Reigns at Wrestlemania.
SPEAR! SPEAR! SPEAR!

John Morrison won the opportunity to join the United States Championship match earlier in the night. Why would Morrison be in the match? Well, because someone needed to eat the pin! Riddle being a champ is meh to me, as he hasn’t really connected. He managed to pin Morrison, protecting Lashley for bigger and better things.
BROOOOOOOOOOOOO…
We have a brand NEW #USChampion, and his name is @SuperKingOfBros! #WWEChamber pic.twitter.com/eqo5AIkHli

In the Women’s Tag Team Title match Reginald cost Bianca Belair & Sasha Banks accidentally. What is the goal here? Will he and Carmella factor into the feud between the two for Wrestlemania? The match itself was fine, but having Belair and Banks be reluctant champs together was a very intriguing prospect.

Grade: B
This show definitely had ups and downs, but was solid overall. The opening Chamber match was incredible and got the show off to a hot start. While not as good as the opener, the WWE Chamber match was also pretty good. The only real downers were the women’s tag match and the Miz cash-in. If things go the way we expect, then it’s a logical step to get us to Lashley-McIntyre at Wrestlemania. If we instead get an extended Miz title reign, there will be no Rock to save us this time around.
