The Wrestling Roundup is here to bring you all the news and rumors you need to know in one place.
AEW Dynamite Results
The biggest cross-promotion story in years is Kenny Omega as AEW World Champion. With Don Callis as his manager, Omega has started appearing in Impact as well and teased a collector gimmick. On Wednesday, he had a No DQ match against Joey Janela. Would a new number one contender emerge, either as Janela or someone else? Here’s what went down on Dynamite this week:
- Matt Hardy & Private Party def. Adam Page & Dark Order
- Cody Rhodes def. Angelico
- Inner Circle def. Top Flight, Best Friends, & Varsity Blondes
- The Acclaimed def. SCU
- Big Swole & Serena Deeb def. Diamante & Ivelisse
- Kenny Omega def. Joey Janela in a No DQ Match
The next AEW World Championship match has been decided. On the December 30th AEW show, Omega will defend against Rey Fenix. Fenix has always been a talented wrestler, and this will be his biggest stage yet to showcase his talents in AEW.

NXT Results
This week’s NXT was framed around crowning a new number one contender for Finn Balor’s NXT Championship. Either Kyle O’Reilly or Pete Dunne would be next in line at NXT’s New Year’s Evil. What else would go down on NXT this week? Here are the full results:
- Austin Theory & Johnny Gargano def. Leon Ruff & KUSHIDA
- Tomasso Ciampa def. Tyler Rust
- Kyle O’Reilly def. Pete Dunne to earn an NXT Title shot at NXT New Year’s Evil
- Shotzi Blackheart def. Indi Hartwell by disqualification
- Karrion Kross def. Desmond Troy
- Toni Storm def. Rhea Ripley
The faction warfare continues even as we fallout from NXT War Games. Before the number one contender’s match, Killian Dain and Drake Maverick came to blows with Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch.

The new faction of The Way, led by Mr. & Mrs. Gargano with Austin Theory & Indi Hartwell, were also all over the product. They came out on top of all of their matchups, even if Shotzi beat Indi by disqualification. NXT really is relying on their factions squaring off right now, but it’s making for entertaining viewing.

WWE Planning Physical Hall of Fame
According to Ric Flair, WWE are in the process of building a physical WWE Hall of Fame (h/t WrestlingInc). Flair was talking to ESPN The Jump and talked about how WWE is progressing on the project. He said WWE will be building a physical structure in Orlando, but that construction has been delayed due to the pandemic.
A WWE Hall of Fame would be a must-see for any fan. What sorts of displays and artifacts would you want to see in the Hall of Fame? Any of the displays normally on show at Wrestlemania Axxess would make for a great base for the Hall of Fame.
