The Wrestling Roundup is here to bring you all the news and rumors you need to know in one place.
WWE Raw Results
It was the last Raw before the WWE Draft kicks off on Friday night. Does that mean that WWE would stall and not have any big updates? Turns out no – RETRIBUTION revealed their fearless leader. Scroll down to the end of the results to see, but first here are the full results:
- Asuka, Dana Brooke & Mandy Rose def. Lana, Natalya & Zelina Vega
- Drew Gulak def. R-Truth (c) to win the 24/7 Championship
- Buddy Murphy & Seth Rollins def. Humberto Carillo & Dominik Mysterio
- Braun Strowman & Keith Lee goes to a double countout draw
- R-Truth def. Drew Gulak (c) to win the 24/7 Championship
- Hurt Business def. Apollo Crews & Ricochet
- Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler (c) def. Riott Squad to retain the Women’s Tag Team Championship
- MVP vs Mustafa Ali goes to a no contest
- Randy Orton, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode def. Drew McIntyre & Street Profits
Ali is the leader of RETRIBUTION. The faction showed up during his match with MVP, and Ali looked to be fighting them off. Instead he turned around and was revealed as their leader. This is a great move. Ali makes sense as someone who has been overlooked for too long, and he was seemingly going to be the hacker that got dropped. RETRIBUTION now has a leader and some direction.
Balor & O’Reilly Injury Notes
After their absolute banger of an NXT Championship match at TakeOver, both Finn Balor & Kyle O’Reilly were worse for wear. WWE released some injury updates for both men (h/t WrestlingInc). O’Reilly suffered some broken teeth and is “being evaluated for additional injuries”. The Prinxe also went to a “local medical facility” to get looked at for potential facial fractures after ending the match bloody in the mouth. These two put their bodies on the line in an excellent, hard hitting affair. Let’s hope their injuries are strictly storyline.
GLOW Cancelled
In a disappointing turn of events, Netflix has reversed a previous decision and cancelled wrestling comedy GLOW (h/t Deadline). Back in August 2019 the show was renewed by Netflix for a fourth and final season. Now due to COVID-19 related shutdowns, the show will forego that season and end. The show was a great look into Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling from the 1980s, and will be fondly remembered.
